UTS students are invited to participate in the UTS- King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) #breakinglaw Hackathon to bring your ideas to life (31 March – 2 April 2017)
This is a joint initiative of KWM and UTS Faculties of Law and Engineering and IT.
Are you interested in partnering with an innovative law firm to solve real-world business challenges? Think that lawyers only work with other lawyers? Whether you are a Law, Engineering and IT, Business or DAB student, experience the way corporate commercial lawyers work with multi-disciplinary teams to find legally rigorous and practical solutions to clients.
The #breakinglaw Hackathon is a competition where multidisciplinary teams of students from across UTS and KWM employees develop innovative technology driven solutions to legal problems. Teams will be asked to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, with the top three teams eligible for cash prizes totalling $15,000.
UTS academics and lawyers from KWM will assist you in formulating new and innovative ways to solve real-life problems. Using technology, problem themes may include the 21st century digital age, remote working, online personal data and protecting creative work.
This opportunity is open to UTS students only, who have studied in at least one of the following areas:
- Application development
- Innovation and entrepreneurship
- Web design
Participation will be an exciting experience and add value to your resume. You must ensure that you are available for the whole event and that you are committed to attending. Places are strictly limited. Intellectual property T&C's apply (#11).
