Why do women in health and social care become stuck in the middle?

The majority of health and social care providers are women, but a curious thing happens: as women progress up the management and leadership ladder they often become stuck in the organisational middle.

You are invited to this lecture, conducted by Professor Deborah Saltman, who will explore the causes and consequences of being “stuck in the middle” and will provide insights useful to those wanting to shift their own careers, or to help senior executives – both male and female – to support and cultivate female managerial talent in their organisations.

Professor Saltman is an Honorary Professor at Imperial College, London, the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney. Her advanced capacity for strategic problem solving is underpinned by extensive experience in corporate and government enterprise, medical and health research and senior academic management.
