“… artists and writers and educators in our society are as essential and fundamental as the electrical conduit that runs through the walls of this building and supplies the illumination, power and transformation of the space we are in.
What is the value of the arts and social sciences people ask? Well, from now on I am going to use the word conduit. We are the conduit which links, connects, routes and joins disparate parts of our world. Everyone and everything is spinning in its own orbit, we the communicators, the teachers, the writers, the artists are the ties that bind.”
