- FTE of staff rose slightly in 2011 in both the UTS faculties and divisions. Total FTE increased by 1.75% from 2010 to 2,797 in 2011.
- The percentage of casual staff has risen slightly from 19% in 2010 to 20% in 2011.
- FTE of Faculty of Business was largest, followed by Engineering and Information Technology.
- 36% of full-time and fractional full-time academic staff were Level B (Lecturer) and approximately 44% were Level C (Senior Lecturer) or higher.
- FTE of female staff comprised 52% of total full/ fractional full-time staff.
- Approximately 61% of staff were on continuing terms in 2011.
- The proportion of staff in Faculties (as opposed to administrative units) at UTS (40.36%) was slightly lower than the Australian Technology Network (ATN) Universities average (40.96%) for 2010. The ATN is a coalition of 5 Universities, Curtin University of Technology, Queensland University of Technology, RMIT University, University of South Australia and University of Technology, Sydney.
- UTS had a higher than average proportion of academic staff above Level A (tutor) in 2010 compared to ATN averages.
