- FTE of staff fell slightly from 2,576 in 2006 to 2,525 in 2007.
- The percentage of casual staff has remained steady at around 21% in 2006-7.
- FTE of Faculty of Business was largest, followed by Science.
- 33% of full-time and fractional full-time academic staff were Level B (Lecturer) and 59% were Level C (Senior Lecturer) or higher.
- FTE of female staff comprised 49% of total staff.
- 64% of staff were on continuing terms in 2007.
- The proportion of staff in Faculties (as opposed to administrative units) at UTS was slightly above the Australian Technology Network (ATN) Universities average for 2006. The ATN is a coalition of 5 Universities, Curtin University of Technology, Queensland University of Technology, RMIT University, University of South Australia and University of Technology, Sydney.
- UTS had a higher proportion of staff on casual terms in 2006 compared to ATN averages.
