Consistent with official enrolment numbers, 30 September 2011.
- In 2011, 51% of enrolled students were females and 61% were under 25 years of age.
- The Faculties with the largest proportion of female students in 2011 were Nursing, Midwifery & Health and Arts & Social Sciences.
- 34% of students nominated a language background other than English in 2011.
- UTS students spoke a wide variety of languages, with more than 130 non-English languages amongst the student body in 2011. The largest language groups were Chinese, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Arabic.
- As a result of the high number of International Students and the multicultural population of Sydney, 46% of UTS students were born outside Australia.
- Some 729 students reported having a disability, with a wide range of disabilities including medical, visual, learning, hearing and mobility challenges
