Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Resources)

Patrick Woods, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Resources), is accountable for financial services, commercial services and facilities management.

Patrick Woods

He is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective use of the resources of the University to achieve its key strategic priorities of Teaching and Learning, Research, Student Focus and Community Engagement. The areas within his portfolio include:

  • annual budget
  • long term and short term financial planning
  • property development
  • commercial services
  • long term campus development plan
  • maintenance and improvement of existing facilities
  • external financial reporting
  • internal management reporting
  • crisis management
  • security
  • building services

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Resources) are the directors of Financial Services, Facilities Management and Commercial Services.

Patrick has strong leadership experience, and a very good understanding of the higher education sector, having spent the last three years as Director - Financial Operations and Systems at the University of Sydney. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer with TMP Worldwide AsiaPac, worked for a period as a Management Consultant, and was the Managing Director of Merisel (a computer hardware and software distributor). Patrick has an MBA from McMaster University in Canada.
