As Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (International) Professor David S G Goodman provides vision and leadership for international activities and developments to build the University's global reach, cultural diversity and international capability.

David Goodman
Professor Goodman's research concerns social and political change in China. He has recently completed a study of provincialism and democracy in China under reform; and is currently investigating Colonial Germany in China during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. He founded and developed the Institute for International Studies, where he remains a professor. Professor Goodman has long been involved in Australian LOTE teaching and the development of overseas programs of study for Australian students.
Key responsibilities include:
- developing and reviewing international policies
- aligning a wide range of international activities under a coherent strategic direction
- facilitating the development of capability to operate internationally both on- and off-shore through activities undertaken by Faculties
- overseeing the growth and diversity of the UTS international student profile
- setting and managing against quality standards for international partnerships and programs
- ensuring that the UTS brand and values are effectively communicated and represented in all international endeavours
- fostering and promoting a culture that embraces change and encourages innovation
