Since 2003 UTS has been considering what changes need to take place at its Kuring-gai campus to ensure the University continues to provide all its students with the best possible teaching, learning and research experiences.
On 14 June 2007, the NSW Minister for Planning advised that the proposal to reuse the UTS Kuring-gai site for a range of potential uses constitutes a major project that should be assessed by the Department of Planning and subject to the Minister's approval. In June 2008, the Minister approved the University's Kuring-gai campus rezoning application and concept plan - UTS is now in a position to evaluate all the options available for the campus' long-term future success.
The final decision on the future use of the campus at Lindfield will be determined by the UTS Council and only after it has been fully briefed on a course of action that will best serve the students of the University. Such a decision is unlikely to be reached before the end of 2008 and would not take effect until at least 2011.
